Promoting the use of ICT, information society and competitiveness is one of the strategic pillars on which the development policy of the Spanish economy has been based in recent years. The use of digital economy aims to strengthen public governance, civil society participation, (companies, SMEs, foundations, universities, research centers and trainers, etc.) and local development.
The Directorate General for Telecommunications and Information Technology, in order to develop the aforementioned policies, is responsible for designing and implementing Plan Avanza I and II, financed by ERDF and ESF funds, European grants for development of regions and disadvantaged populations.
The technical Support of Creatividad y Tecnología guarantees the implementation, execution and evaluation of those policies and the compliance with the objectives of Plan Avanza II, paying particular attention to financial and technical monitoring and evaluation of the Plan and its associated programs and projects
